Before you begin the Remix project, post your ideas to your class blog.

• What materials will you work with (public domain, CC, your own)?
• What are you trying to do, and why?
• What tools will you use (html, Flash, etc)?

Not just artists

The need for open access to cultural material is not just an issue for artists. Academics, like Danah Boyd, also see the need to make information (such as academic articles) freely available.

In the sciences, the Public Library of Science (PLoS) has been operating for several years.
